The Casual Chic Approach

The casual chic look is a style that’s gained much more acceptance in the workplace and in social settings, as society in general has become more relaxed. What’s important for a man to remember when dressing casually, however, is that he needs to keep the feeling of “chic” firmly in place. Too much casual can veer directly into sloppy, which isn’t the kind of image most men really want to present.

Choosing casual styles, like well designed khakis, jeans, tee shirts or sweaters, can create a casual chic look that’s incredibly winning. In keeping with the feeling of chic, a man may want to choose leather sandals or loafers instead of tennis shoes when he’s going out socially. He may also want to choose shirts in more elegant fabrics, like silks or even very smooth cottons or linens, rather than raggedy tees that double as workout clothes.

No matter what a man’s overall style preference, the important thing for him to remember is that he’s always presenting an image of himself in the way he chooses to dress, so it’s important that he chooses well.

For many people, their dishwasher is one of their most important appliances. It makes their life a whole lot easier and simpler when they don’t have to wash their dishes by hand. However, it can make their life a whole lot more complicated if it breaks down. Here are some things to watch out for to make sure that you get dishwasher repair on time.

Noises

It is not uncommon for people to run their dishwasher when they are not home or not in the area. The loud humming that it makes me be bothersome to them. However, this means that you don’t get to witness any abnormal noises that it is making. Be sure to occasionally stick around when running your dishwasher to ensure that it is not sounding out of the ordinary. If it is, it may be time to have a dishwasher repair person take a look at it.

Not Getting Clean

Obviously, if your dishes are not getting clean, that is a fairly good sign that the dishwasher is not working properly. However, it is also a bad sign when the dishwasher itself does not look clean. There should not be stuck on food on the walls of the dishwasher. There also should not be any film or grease stuck on the racks or walls either. If this begins to build up, it is probably because the engine is not working as hard as it should to get everything clean.

Funny Smells

When the dishwasher is done doing its duty, there should only be a fresh and clean smell left lingering. Even during the process, you should generally just smell the scent of the detergent. If you are smelling smoke or the scent of something burning, that is also a sign that the engine is not working properly. However, in this case, it is probably because the engine is working too hard. This is a sign that the engine is about to die out. You want to be sure that you catch it before this happens. It is cheaper and easier to fix a dishwasher engine than it is to replace it.

Any Abnormalities

If you are noticing anything out of the ordinary in regards to your dishwasher, you should contact a dishwasher repair service before it carries on too long. The longer you wait, the harder and more expensive it will be to fix the problem.

BMW Z8 (E52) – “The World is Not Enough”

The stunning 1999 BMW Z8 (E52) convertible zipped its way across the silver screen in 1999, driven by none other than the classy car aficionado James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) in his 19th spy adventure – “The World is Not Enough.” This was Brosnan’s third James Bond performance out of his four appearance as the world famous international spy of leisure, women, technology and gorgeous automobiles. Unfortunately, for the sake of the car, its sleek elegance was sacrificed for cinematic excitement when it was cut in half by a helicopter carrying saws – normally utilized for slicing trees.

BMW 318i (E46) – “The Bourne Identity”

Matt Damon made his first appearance as the global assassin with amnesia, Jason Bourne, in the 2002 action mystery – “The Bourne Identity.” But it was actually one of Bourne’s enemies that was afforded the pleasure sitting behind the 1998 BMW 318i (E46), adding an element of austere class and extravagance to the identity of this fearsome foe.

BMW 840Ci (E31) – “The Italian Job”

In the 2003 version of the heist adventure film, “The Italian Job”, actor Jason Statham joined an eclectic cast that included: Mark Wahlberg, Mos Def, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Seth Green and Donald Sutherland in action-packed plot to snatch gold from an ex-associate. But Statham had the added pleasure of also sharing some screen time with a dark and regal 1997 BMW 840Ci (E31), that would make a dealer in BMW cars very proud. It would be extremely difficult to find an individual finicky enough to resist the opportunity to make such a flamboyant entrance on camera.

BMW 326 “Hannibal Rising”

Gasped Ulliel reprised the role of the serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter that was notably presented to the world of cinema first by the British actor Anthony Hopkins in “The Silence of the Lambs”, “Hannibal” and “Red Dragon”. But in the 2007 edition, there is another star in the film – the vintage 1936 BMW 326, with its classy “bug-eyed” headlights and classic aristocratic chassis. This horror story is yet another example of how movies can make marvelous things from the past seem brand new again.

La première destination de notre voyage cinématographique en famille est la suivante: Soyez prêt pour vous embarquer dans… “Les aventures de Tintin – Le secret de la Licorne“, film de Steven Spielberg en 3D paru en 2011. Les mouvements des personnages sont réalisés en “motion capture” et l’effet esthétique est à couper le souffle sans compter les péripéties qui ne vous laissent pas une minute de répit. Les adultes et les petits se régalent.

Soyez attentifs à notre deuxième départ pour un voyage d’aventure haut en couleurs et stress: Indiana Jones! La série des trois premiers films parus dans les années 80 est inoubliable. C’est toujours Steven Spielberg qui est aux commandes et on a une petite préférence pour “Les aventuriers de l’arche perdue” et puis Harrisson Ford fera toujours frémir les enfants… et les mamans.

En troisième position dans notre palmarès, la famille s’installe confortablement devant le petit écran pour voir et revoir les films de Yves Robert parus en 1990: “La Gloire de mon Père” et “Le Château de ma mère“! La qualité du texte de Marcel Pagnol, la fraîcheur des scènes et la nostalgie de l’enfance fascineront toutes les générations. On ne peut résister à la grâce de l’actrice Nathalie Roussel, merveilleuse maman de Marcel.

Des moyens techniques et cinématographiques plus récents vous feront embarquer pour un quatrième voyage sur le galion de “Pirates des Caraïbes” film de Disney. Le premier de la série des quatre films est paru en 2003. On admirera les excellents Johnny Depp et Keira Knightley avec une préférence pour le 3e film: “Jusqu’au bout du monde“.

Pour terminer notre voyage cinématographique familial, nous vous conseillons de prendre un billet pour le mythique film “Les Blues Brothers” paru en 198O. Cela peut paraître antique mais le film s’avère passionnant et tout public, recommandé pour ceux qui ont l’oreille musicale. Une histoire de repris de justice qui souhaitent reformer leur ancien groupe de musiciens… On a le plaisir de recevoir chez soi Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown etc. dans une histoire haletante de quiproquos et de courses de bagnoles façon Starsky et Hutch. La légende!

The Jaguar is one of the most frequently used cars in films. There are many examples of movie characters who use this car prominently. Austin Powers drove a Jaguar, which he named a “Shaguar”, in the second “Austin Powers” film. The main character of the Christopher Nolan film “Memento” also drove a Jaguar. Another Jag was featured in the James Bond film “Die Another Day”. It was driven by the film’s main villain, Zao.

Many famous car brands are featured prominently in films. Long-running Japanese brands like Mazda have also appeared in many films. For example, a 1997 Mazda Rx-7 was featured in “Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift” (2006). Honda is another company whose cars have been driven by the “Fast and Furious” characters, including Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordanna Brewster). Chevrolet cars have been featuring in movies for decades. A 1972 Chevy Corvette Stingray car was featured in “Gone in Sixty Seconds” in 1974. A 1959 Chevy Bel Air was driven by the title character in the Australian action flick “Mad Max” (1979). In a more recent example, a 1968 Chevy Nova was driven by the two main police characters, played by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, in “Bad Boys II” (2003). Another even more recent example is “Fast Five” (2010), which featured a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette being driven by one of the main characters in a key action sequence.

Sometimes, car companies will even create a special vehicle to be used in a film. For example, Honda created a concept car that was used in the box office smash hit “The Avengers”. The car is driven by the film’s superheroes, which include Ironman, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. Honda’s concept car was seen by millions of moviegoers this past spring and summer.

It’s not just cars that help define movie characters. A Suzuki motocycle was featured in the street racing film “2 Fast 2 Furious”, the second part of the lucrative “Fast and Furious” film franchise. Although the “Fast and Furious” films are mainly known for featuring cars, motorcycles have also been displayed prominently.

Many movie characters, like James Bond and his Aston Martin, become associated with a specific brand of vehicle. This, of course, adds visibility to the type of car being featured and can propel sales. Cars will undoubtedly continue to be featured prominently in many films to come. It will be interesting to see which cars are featured in the future. For example, perhaps the new Range Rover Evoque will be used by a famous movie character someday. Only time will tell.

Probably the first, and the best marriage in a movie was the original “Father of the Bride”, filmed in the 1950’s. This sweet, timeless classic featured Spencer Tracy and Joan Bennett, marrying their daughter, and was a smash hit in its day.

The number 2 best marriage movie would have to be the remake of the original Father of the Bride starting Steve Martin. This remake closely followed the lines of the 50’s smash, only made wonderfully better with the humor of Steve Martin. Again, all the tenderness and love shone through as Martin married off his daughter.

Undoubtedly the most hilarious wedding movies of modern times is Bridesmaids. Starring Kristen Wiig and Melisa McCarthy, amongst and all-star cast, this movie will make you laugh until you wheeze. How many things can go wrong on your wedding day? Let Bridesmaids count they ways, sister! Perhaps they could have used discount wedding dresses in movies; this one certainly could have used one!

You can’t miss with Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz in My Best Friend’s Wedding. This movie, about two people who make a pact stating that if they aren’t married by the age of 28, will marry each other, has some of the classic hallmarks of a relationship that has withstood the ages.

At last, the classic and hilarious My Big Fat Greek Wedding brings it all home. In this wonderful classic, we are shown that opposites do attract, and do so beautifully. This was a marriage for the ages that almost wasn’t. Trying to connect two very different folks with very different backgrounds and families was tough, but love prevailed. My Big Fat Greek Wedding will go down as an all-time wedding favorite and for good reason!
